Thomson Thomson, Host Ambassador - Eastern Canada

Brayden joined our team in 2022 as a Host Ambassador. He was born and raised in Red Deer, and has lived here most of his life. Brayden has worked in the UK with international students, and is also a host parent with his wife and family. Brayden is passionate about cultures, languages and travelling and has also worked with Immigrant and Newcomer youth and families in the Red Deer area. He will complete his Bachelor of Education through the University of Calgary in 2023.

Brayden and his wife have three sons. Brayden loves adventuring outdoors with his family, specifically around water (Canoeing, swimming, paddle-boarding) and cycling. Brayden hopes to be a positive influence in the lives of those around him and inspire them to be all they can be.

Brayden makes his home on Treaties 6 & 7 which are separated through the city by the Red Deer River. Treaties 6 & 7 are the traditional territories and oral practices of the Blackfoot nations, which include the Siksika, the Piikani, and the Kainai peoples as well as the Tsuut’ina and Stoney Nakoda First Nations, the Métis Nation (Region 3).
