“Hector joined CHN’s team as a Host Ambassador in 2023. Hector and his family arrived in Ottawa from Mexico in 1996 looking to give their daughters the possibility of a better life. He worked in the information technology business for many years moving to the not-for-profit sector after volunteering with community sport organizations and experiencing the benefit they bring to the community.

Hector and his family started their life as hosts with athletes from Latin America in 2006 and have been hosting athletes and students from around the world since then. They have had great experiences with the students they have hosted, and he is ready to assist host families to make sure their students go back home happy.”
