Headley Headley, Host Ambassador - Eastern Canada

Akilah recently joined the CHN team as a remote Host Ambassador. Before joining CHN, Akilah discovered her immense passion for working with youth and students. Akilah decided to move to South Korea to be an English teacher upon graduating from University. Through that experience, she discovered her passion for working with international students because she could relate to the challenges of moving to a new country alone. In her career path, she has assisted students who are newcomers to Canada with settling into a new country, and she has also worked with students who are deaf or hard of hearing in post-secondary settings. Akilah has formed lasting relationships with her students with whom she still keeps in touch.

In her spare time, she loves attending salsa lessons, travelling, reading a good book, kayaking, or doing anything adventurous with friends and family.
